What the heck is that?

Many college student participate in unsafe sex. Some feel like "Oh I will never get that" till the day they wake up feeling a little itch or maybe even a burn. No person wants to be like the girl in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0n-3ufuiGb8&app=desktop&noredirect=1. Please be cautious there are a few inappropriate words in this video.

I've heard so many college students state how they would rather get something they could get rid of instead of one they cant. If you get an STI you can get rid of and you get it right back you are likely to harm yourself even more. The STI's you cant get rid of are the ones that start with an H.

STI's are spread through sexual intercourse no matter if it is oral, vaginal or anal sex.
Chlamydia symptoms (some cases no symptoms are shown)
  • women- burning and pain when urinating frequent urination, discharge from vagina, and etc...

About 1 and every 5 people get Herpes in college and in order for that rate to go down college students need to learn ways to have safer sex. In my next blog I will speak on ways to prevent STI's

  1. STIs are very important and I think that it's great that you chose to educate everyone on this topic. You hit the nail on the head when you said that some individuals feel like they'll never get anything, I've heard people say that as well. In my opinion, it's sad that people don't do a better job of protecting themselves from STIs, but instead act careless about it. I really like how you provided the different types and the side effects that men and women will experience with each one. Great post!

  2. I LOVE how you mentioned symptoms for different STIs. It's incredibly important that people know what these are so that they can know when they should see a doctor before things get worse. I had no idea that if it started with an H, you couldn't get rid of it, that's good to know. Great post, with valuable information!

  3. Treonia,

This is a great topic to discuss with college students. It amazes me how many college students have absolutely NO IDEA or concept of what STI's are. This links to health literacy which is what we are discussing now. Though health services provides (I believe they provide this) Rubber Lover's for Eastern students, there has to be more awareness. It seems like a tough subject for those who have gotten a STI before or think for some reason they will never get one. Your last part on herpes is important for people to read because there are not just two types but people can have it and not show any symptoms and spread it to others which can make people with low immune systems VERY sick! Especially in men, who have it way easier than women and could be in their 40's before showing any signs or symptoms. I look forward to reading the rest of your blogs. Great job!

  4. This information is very useful simply because many people participate in unprotected sex and feel as though these things could never happen to them until it happens to them. Many people do not pay attention or even care enough to stop and learn the sins and symptoms of these sti. I feel as though it is better to be safe than sorry.

  5. This is a very important topic that a lot of people are not educated on. It was a great idea to list some of the symptoms so that people know what to look for. You are for sure right about the fact that many people think that they are invincible when it comes to STIs even though we all know that is not the truth.
