I've heard so many college students state how they would rather get something they could get rid of instead of one they cant. If you get an STI you can get rid of and you get it right back you are likely to harm yourself even more. The STI's you cant get rid of are the ones that start with an H.
STI's are spread through sexual intercourse no matter if it is oral, vaginal or anal sex.
Chlamydia symptoms (some cases no symptoms are shown)
- women- burning and pain when urinating frequent urination, discharge from vagina, and etc...
- men- swollen testicles, burning when urinating, watery white drip from penis, and etc..
Gonorrhea symptoms
- women- show very few symptoms besides the change in vaginal discharge to yellow/gray and abdominal pain
- men- pain during urination and bowel movement and yellowish and greenish discharge from penis
Genital Herpes symptoms
- small painful blisters
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) symptoms
- itching in burning in genital area along with small warts
About 1 and every 5 people get Herpes in college and in order for that rate to go down college students need to learn ways to have safer sex. In my next blog I will speak on ways to prevent STI's
